The Master in Men’s Pattern Making at Istituto Secoli is a highly specialized program designed to transform creative ideas into complete, coherent, and professional men’s collections. It is an educational experience where creativity, design, and technique merge harmoniously, developing professionals capable of translating stylistic vision and aesthetic research into high-quality concrete products, in continuity with the great tradition of Made in Italy.
At the center of the program is the in-depth study of the Secoli Method, which guides students through the entire process of design and technical construction of garments. The program encompasses all aspects of men’s prêt-à-porter, integrating the development of classic, youth, and sportswear, concluding with advanced specialization in “made-to-measure” and tailoring techniques.
The manual skills foundation is enhanced by acquiring professional digital tools. The Master includes comprehensive training in the use of the main CAD software, essential for pattern industrialization, marker management, and size grading. The integration between artisanal expertise and new technologies enables students to confidently and competently handle both artisanal and industrial production.
Who is this course suitable for?
Designed for Fashion Design graduates and professionals with a solid creative foundation, this Master is the ideal choice for those seeking comprehensive training. It bridges the gap between creative ideas and finished products, providing the highest-level technical and practical skills necessary to independently manage the design and creation of complete clothing collections.
What are the career prospects?
Upon completion of the Master, graduates are highly qualified professionals capable of operating competently in every phase of the product lifecycle, from conception to final realization, in industrial companies, artisanal tailoring shops, and service companies, with the possibility of pursuing a freelance career. The acquired skills open doors to key roles, particularly those related to the Pattern Department (such as Pattern Maker and CAD Pattern Maker), the Style Department (such as Fashion Designer, Fashion Illustrator, or Illustrator), the Product Department (Product Manager), and in Prototyping and Tailoring departments (such as Prototype Tailor or Tailor).
Class Schedule
The course includes 1,260 hours of classroom training.
Attendance is mandatory and full-time, with classes from Monday to Friday for a total of 27.5 hours per week.
The lessons will be delivered primarily in person, given the importance of laboratory activities in the curriculum, but with the support of various digital applications.
