DESIGN WEEK PRE15842

The Master’s in Women’s Pattern Making at Istituto Secoli is an advanced specialization program designed to transform creative ideas into complete, coherent, and professional women’s collections. It is an educational experience where creativity, design, and technique blend harmoniously, creating professionals capable of translating stylistic vision and aesthetic research into concrete, high-quality products, in continuity with the great tradition of Made in Italy.
At the core of the program is an in-depth study of the Secoli Method, which guides students through the entire process of designing and technical construction of garments. The program encompasses all aspects of women’s prêt-à-porter, integrating the development of classic, young, and sportswear, culminating in advanced specialization in “made-to-measure” and tailoring techniques.
The manual skills repertoire is enhanced by the acquisition of professional digital tools. The Master’s includes comprehensive training in the use of major CAD software, essential for pattern industrialization, marker making, and size grading. The integration of artisanal expertise and new technologies enables graduates to confidently handle both artisanal and industrial production.

Who is this course suitable for?

Designed for Fashion Design graduates and professionals with a solid creative foundation, this Master’s is the ideal choice for those seeking comprehensive training. It bridges the gap between creative concept and finished product, providing high-level technical and practical skills necessary to independently manage the design and creation of complete clothing collections.

What are the career prospects?

Upon completion of the Master’s, graduates are highly qualified professionals capable of operating competently in every phase of the product lifecycle, from conception to final production, in industrial companies, artisanal tailoring workshops, and service companies, with the opportunity to pursue a freelance career. The acquired skills open doors to key roles, particularly those related to the Pattern Making Department (as Pattern Maker and CAD Pattern Maker), the Style Department (as Fashion Designer, Fashion Illustrator or Illustrator), the Product Department (Product Manager), and in Prototyping and Tailoring departments (as Prototype Tailor or Tailor).

Class Schedule

The course includes 1,260 hours of classroom training.

Attendance is mandatory and full-time, with classes from Monday to Friday for a total of 27.5 hours per week.
