The three-year course in Fashion Design and Fashion Product Technologies at Istituto Secoli is recognized by the MUR (Ministerial Decree 1262 of 09/25/2023) and awards a First Level Academic Diploma equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree.

During the program, students learn to transform their creativity into concrete skills, developing critical thinking, sensitivity towards fashion system dynamics, and awareness of the social, cultural, and economic context in which they operate. At the same time, they acquire in-depth knowledge of the most innovative and advanced production processes, working with tools and techniques that enable them to execute every phase of a complete clothing collection, from initial concept to final prototype.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SERVICE

Lessons are held in Italian. For the first year, it is possible to request an English translation service during the enrollment phase.

In the second and third years, lessons are held exclusively in Italian to encourage students toward a full understanding of the fashion system and to offer the possibility of completing an internship at a company in the sector in Italy.

Before enrolling in the Course, foreign students are required to present a certification attesting to a B2 level (CEFR) of Italian or English if they request the English translation service; in this case, by the beginning of the second year of the course, foreign students must pass a B2 level Italian language exam.

Who is this course suitable for?

The course is designed for students motivated to enter the fashion world through advanced education that combines theory and practice, offering a solid core of competencies. Thanks to an approach that brings academic experience closer to the operational reality of the industry, students acquire practical tools to meet the challenges and demands of the professional world.

What are the career prospects?

Graduates will be able to work confidently in every phase of clothing collection design, both as freelance professionals and within industrial, artisanal, or service companies.

Opportunities range from creative roles in the style department, such as fashion designer, fashion illustrator, and illustrator, to more technical positions in the product department, such as product manager, and in the pattern-making department, including pattern maker and CAD pattern maker. There are also opportunities in prototyping and tailoring, with roles such as prototype tailor and tailor, capable of transforming ideas into concrete garments.

Class Schedule

The course includes approximately 800 hours of classroom training each year.

Attendance is mandatory and full-time, with classes from Monday to Friday for a total of approximately 27.5 hours per week.

The lessons will be delivered primarily in person, given the importance of laboratory activities in the curriculum, but with the support of various digital applications.
