Istituto Secoli had the pleasure of participating in the third edition of the conference “IACDE Italia at the Center of Innovation“, held on October 1 at the Kilometro Rosso Science and Technology Park.
The event brought together industry leaders, technology partners, and professionals to share ideas and perspectives on the future of textiles and apparel, with particular focus on the themes of technology, digitalization, and education.
Representing the Institute, Caterina Di Giacomo presented the School and its Method, focusing on the increasingly close relationship between education and innovation and on how technological evolution is transforming the way fashion is designed and created.
Among the projects presented, PROKE – Digital Bespoke and Remote Fitting represents a concrete example of this evolution. The research project explores the possibilities offered by digital technologies in the bespoke fashion sector, bringing traditional tailoring into dialogue with new remote design methods.
Developed in collaboration with PGM12 s.r.l., represented by Paola Griggio, PROKE benefits from the valuable contribution of Stefania Paganotto, instructor of pattern-making for women’s apparel and lingerie, and emerging designer Edoardo Fabbri. Through the Proke app, body measurements can be captured via smartphone in just a few minutes, enabling the remote design of personalized garments and demonstrating how technology can expand the possibilities of contemporary tailoring.
Participation in the event was also an opportunity to highlight Istituto Secoli’s well-established collaborations with important industrial and technological organizations. Among the examples presented, several garments enhanced by the innovative 3D printing technologies from Stratasys, demonstrating an increasingly concrete dialogue between craftsmanship, research, and new production technologies.
