The opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 academic year marked the official start of the Institute’s activities, focusing on key themes in fashion education: research, the future prospects of the sector, and the role of Accademia Secoli as a critical and cultural pillar of the fashion system.

The event was opened by Academic Director Enrico Fagone, who invited young future designers to embrace critical thinking, the constant pursuit of beauty in daily actions, and the exploration of the many forms of art, design, and creativity.

This was followed by a speech from Gian Mario Borney, the new Director of Research and Professor of Fashion Economics and Marketing, who focused his address on the profound changes taking place in the sector—from new opportunities to the technological innovations redefining the fashion landscape.
In closing, President Matteo Secoli addressed the students to present the main developments regarding the Institute’s evolution: new spaces, future projects, and the establishment of the new campus in the Certosa District, the result of a collaboration with Arsutoria School, an Italian center of excellence for footwear, leather goods, and accessories education.

A moment of sharing and reflection for the young future Secoli designers, called upon to gain a deeper understanding of the industry and to confirm, with renewed awareness, their choice of study and growth within the Academy.
