The young creatives of Istituto Secoli arrive in Sicily as guests of “Sicilia di Moda 2014”, a national competition dedicated to promoting young designers that FIERA EMAIA, the Mediterranean Exhibition Center, established to support the growth of emerging talent.

Every year, the Sicilia di Moda runway showcases exclusive creations, colors, and fabrics that set the season’s trends.

Istituto Secoli will present “SHIIN”, a collection designed by the students of the Master’s in Womenswear Patternmaking and inspired by the new frontiers of fashion.

Concept

A word of Chinese origin, “shiin” has the dual meaning of “structure” and “avant-garde woman”, key concepts of the collection created with eco-friendly fabrics with zero environmental impact. Oversized silhouettes are mixed with slim-fit volumes in a creative interplay. The prints are based on two-dimensionality and are inspired by Eastern culture.
