On Friday, September 23, 2016, the RIGPA women’s SS17 collection by Giuseppe Buccinnà will be presented at the Cross+Studio space in Milan at via Giacomo Watt 5 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

CONCEPT

An exploration into the depths of the mind’s innermost nature in an attempt to express a profoundly authentic message.
In this process, images, sensations, and sounds have created the foundation for the shapes and geometries that characterize the entire collection.
A selection of natural, untreated fabrics with a linear and minimalist color palette.
A combination of sheer volumes and the use of the reverse side of fabrics—an act of stripping the material bare—has been applied to traditional garment structures with entire sections removed; asymmetrical blazers where
fabric panels and glimpses of the body alternate, shaping the harmony of the entire collection.

PROFILE
Giuseppe Buccinnà is an Italian fashion designer with a degree in Civil Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano who later specialized in pattern making at Istituto Secoli. Through his work, he aims to nurture both backgrounds by combining strictly technical elements with harmonious, voluminous shapes.

Essential connections between fabric, style, and fit; an attraction to abandoned structures, as well as a fascination with Eastern cultures, psychology, music, and painting, play a crucial role in the development of his ideas.
