Istituto Secoli was pleased to host the ANTIA seminar entitled “4.0 AND THE EVOLUTION OF TIME AND METHODS TO REGAIN COMPETITIVENESS”, a prestigious meeting attended by many of the most important companies in the sector.
The discussion focused on the theme of market evolution, linked primarily to the transformation of sales channels used for purchasing and the new product selection methods adopted by the final consumer, who is seeking an increasingly customized and personalized offering, and the resulting impacts these changes have had on production organization.
In this context, and to respond to the sector’s changed production needs, the role of the Time and Methods Analyst –whose main characteristics originally (in the 1970s) were being a method and time technician, with the ability to measure and finalize performance, balance product lines and functions, arrange and rationalize layouts, and have an understanding of costs – has had to integrate further knowledge into its profile over the years to reach the present day, such as the ability to balance and facilitate the transfer of professional knowledge among collaborators, knowledge of layout types and production systems, mapping production and operational flows, mapping elements that add cost versus those that add value, knowledge of patternmaking – processing and the Quality Assurance system, interacting with control applications, contributing to the safeguarding of KPIs, and understanding 4.0 tools and organization to become a functional facilitator in achieving corporate objectives.
Our thanks to Antia for choosing Istituto Secoli as the venue for the meeting and to all the participants involved:
Gian Mario Borney – Fashion Executive and Consultant, Fabrizio Dugherio – Pro-Rector for technology transfer and business relations at the University of Padua, Giorgio Secoli – Chief Operating Officer of Istituto Secoli, Dario Belloli – CEO of Juki Automation Systems, Luigi Balestrini – Head of Manufacturing at Par-Tec Spa, Giuseppe Menato – CEO of Exekon Srl.
