The patternmaker is the professional who interprets and ‘puts on paper’ the designer’s ideas, translating a graphic sign into a project (the paper pattern) ready to be transferred onto fabric. It is the ‘heart’ of the design process that leads to the birth of a collection, and the skill of Italian patternmakers is one of the fundamental ingredients for Italian leadership in the fashion field.
The academic year at Istituto Secoli begins in September and October 2013: with 78 years of tradition and success in patternmaking training, we offer patternmaking courses in numerous specializations and for every level of preparation.
IF YOU ARE JUST STARTING OUT IN THE FASHION WORLD…
…… our three-year courses are ideal for you. You can choose between the ‘Womenswear Patternmaking‘ and ‘Menswear Patternmaking‘ courses, or the ‘Womenswear Fashion Design and Patternmaking‘ and ‘Menswear Fashion Design and Patternmaking‘ courses. . Courses begin on October 1, 2013. For courses specializing in womenswear, an additional start date is scheduled for January 27, 2014.
IF YOU ARE ALREADY FAMILIAR WITH THE FASHION WORLD…
…… and wish to deepen your knowledge, we have created intensive one-year patternmaking courses for you in the following specializations: menswear, womenswear, childrenswear, women’s lingerie. Courses begin on October 1, 2013. For the womenswear course, a start date is also scheduled for January 27, 2014.
IF YOU HAVE A DEGREE IN FASHION DESIGN…
….. and want to achieve excellence in patternmaking as well, we offer the Master in Menswear Patternmaking, Master in Womenswear Patternmaking and Master in Lingerie and Bridal Patternmaking. Courses begin on October 1, 2013.
IF YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL…
…… and need to update or specialize your skills by learning the Secoli Method, our Saturday courses will be starting for womenswear patternmaking or menswear patternmaking (September 21, 2013) and the evening course in womenswear patternmaking (starting September 23, 2013). An additional section of Saturday womenswear patternmaking is scheduled to start on February 2, 2013.
