Fashion is culture, research, and continuous evolution; it is part of the profession to redefine languages and intercept needs, subsequently translating them into concrete educational offerings. The change currently taking place is shifting the focus of the sector toward original paradigms and artisanal craftsmanship. In this scenario, companies are looking for well-prepared young people capable of bridging a generational gap that has characterized the industry for years: new “hands” must regain familiarity with our country’s manufacturing tradition.
For this reason, starting from the next academic year, Istituto Secoli will introduce two new two-year specialization Master’s programs:
– the first is the Master in Haute Couture Design and Craftsmanship – which provides training on methodologies and processing techniques in the Haute Couture field. The course is developed alongside expert artisans specialized in different processes—such as embroidery and the creation of fabric flowers—and Première capable of teaching the most complex tailoring methodologies to the new generation;
– the second is the Master in Artisanal Tailoring Design and Craftsmanship – Menswear which aims to deepen tailoring techniques alongside a group of highly experienced “Master Tailors” who pass on the most precious methodologies—such as basting, quilting, topstitching, and handmade buttonholes—leading up to the creation of a capsule collection of tailored garments.
