Matteo Secoli is the new President of the Board of Directors of Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda who, together with Alberico Guerzoni, Director of IED Milan, as Vice President, will lead the Association for the next 4 years. On January 18th, the Shareholders’ Meeting elected the two leaders along with Board Members Giuseppina Auricchio (Director of Accademia della Moda IUAD), Alessandro Bertini (Director of Istituto Modartech), and outgoing President Donato Medici (Managing Director of NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti and CEO of Galileo Global Education).
Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda is the hub that, since 2008, has brought together Italian training institutes, schools, and academies offering educational paths in the fashion sector. The schools within the association have always maintained a close link with Italy’s cultural, historical, and industrial heritage, forming a fundamental segment in the development of innovation and the promotion of new talent, while creating the tools to align educational offerings with market needs. Every year, the Association promotes the Fashion Graduate Italia event, the first and only free fashion week open to the public dedicated to the best graduating students from fashion academies, institutes, and schools, serving as a benchmark for career guidance and fashion education.
Matteo Secoli states: “Our Association aims to consolidate collaborative relationships and exchanges with all institutional stakeholders in the sector, with the spirit of service and openness that characterizes our member academies and schools: education will increasingly be a central element around which the competitiveness of the Italian fashion industry will develop in the coming years. This involves the need for creative skills and professionalism capable of fostering digital evolution (or revolution) on one hand, and the imperative to maintain the ability to ‘make’ fashion in Italy on the other, supporting the ongoing generational turnover with the entry of young professionals into the sector.”
