Secoli Library

Our Library

The Istituto Secoli Library, in the heart of Porta Venezia, is an open and welcoming space dedicated to the culture of fashion, design, and art.

Conceived as a place for study, inspiration, and connection, it offers a curated selection of books, materials, and content useful for creative training, alongside a program of cultural activities including workshops, meetings with professionals, and photography exhibitions.

The library is also open to the neighborhood, fostering dialogue between the school, the city, and new creative generations.

The project is co-financed by the European Union under the National Metro Plus and Medium-Sized Cities South Program 2021-2027 and strengthens Istituto Secoli’s commitment to creating opportunities for cultural and personal growth, both inside and outside the classroom.

The Istituto Secoli Library

The Istituto Secoli library represents a specialized documentary heritage in the fields of fashion, design, and applied arts, as well as the organization of business processes, constantly updated to support the research and training of new generations of researchers and enthusiasts of disciplines related to Design and process management and organization.

The bibliographic collection includes volumes for artistic, historical, and technical in-depth study of fashion and costume, specialized manuals on patternmaking and tailoring, publications dedicated to textile design and contemporary trends; sections on psychology, sociology, and philosophy, as well as a significant presence of texts on economics, marketing, and business organization. Furthermore, the spaces host a considerable selection of Italian and international trade magazines.

A significant core of the library consists of the final projects of Istituto Secoli graduates. These works testify to the research paths developed by students and represent a valuable resource for those wishing to explore specific themes related to design, the history of costume, or innovation in tailoring techniques. The theses are available for consultation upon request and constitute a constantly growing archive of the institute’s educational memory.

The Danilo Migliorini Collection

The library preserves the Danilo Migliorini bibliographic collection, a particularly valuable collection that gathers volumes, documents, and materials belonging to Professor Danilo Migliorini and donated by his family. This collection serves as a testament to Italian industrial and sartorial culture and represents a privileged study tool for those wishing to delve into the organizational dynamics applied to the clothing sector and the excellence of Made in Italy.
