Miriam Cozzi has been teaching Embroidery Techniques at Istituto Secoli since 2022. For several years, she has passionately dedicated herself to the study and practice of the art of hand embroidery, both historical and contemporary, exploring its many applications in the fashion and costume sectors. After earning a diploma in Haute Couture Embroidery from Ecole Lesage in Paris, she furthered her studies in the history and tradition of Italian embroidery at the Fondazione Lisio in Florence and specialized in the conservation of textile archives at Afol Moda in Milan and the Fondazione Fashion Research Italy in Bologna. Today, she works as a lecturer, consultant, and embroiderer.

“Teaching ‘hand embroidery techniques for haute couture’ at Istituto Secoli represents a wonderful opportunity to explore new connections between tradition and modernity in the field of textile decoration with students, exploring professional desires and expectations through the practice of a patient and rigorous technique and a constant exercise of creative research.”
