A graduate of the University of Turin, Michele Guazzone has gained extensive experience in the field of socio-semiotic research and communication. In Turin, he collaborated with the quarterly magazine Label—dedicated to contemporary art, architecture, fashion, and design—where he was responsible for text editing and publishing articles on cinema and theater. Following these experiences, he embarked on an academic career: since 2016, he has taught History and Languages of Fashion at the Brescia campus of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore; from 2010 to 2025, he taught at IED Milan, where he also coordinated the Fashion Design course and other three-year programs within the School of Fashion. Since 2025, he has been a lecturer in Sociology of Fashion at Istituto Secoli.
“I believe teaching is a privilege—in my experience, no other job can provide the same satisfaction or the same feeling, at the end of the day, of having done something useful. Two aspects in particular make this experience truly precious: the opportunity to continue studying and growing culturally; and the opportunity to be with students, to learn, and to challenge oneself through the perspective of younger people.”
