Istituto Secoli joins the Scuola dei Mestieri project promoted by Amici per il Centrafrica Onlus, a secular association that has been operating in the Central African Republic since 2001, aiming to create an authentic bond between those who help and those who are helped.
The training initiatives promoted by the Association aim to generate a diffusion of skills: the first fashion course will start by January 2020 within the La Joie de Vivre Center in Bangui.
The Institute has provided two scholarships to support the training of future teachers – Agnes Beya Ngalula and Berthile Kaze. Furthermore, the curriculum for the fashion course to be held within the Scuola dei Mestieri has been completed.
Since last October, Agnes and Berthile have followed an intensive 10-month educational program that allowed them to deepen their knowledge of subjects such as patternmaking, dressmaking, and CAD. Once they return to Africa, their mission will be to train young people with a strong passion for fashion, identifying those among them who can, in turn, become teachers.
