In recent days, the Institute hosted a new in-depth workshop designed to help our students learn and refine garment construction techniques. We were joined by professionals from Freudenberg, a German group and supplier of specialized textile products for the apparel industry. At the Institute, representatives from the renowned brand conducted a seminar on interlinings, which are thin fabrics inserted between the lining and the outer fabric of a garment during the assembly process.
Which and how many types are available on the market today? What is their use and what steps should be followed for press processing? The company representatives provided detailed answers to these and many other questions for students of the three-year academic courses and the Master’s in Womenswear and Menswear; during the session, the experts shared their knowledge with the students who, after an initial general presentation on the materials, engaged in a practical application.
