The summer course in Underwear & Beachwear Pattern Making is an intensive two-week program designed to offer targeted technical specialization in one of the most complex sectors of the fashion system. Through the application of the renowned Secoli Method, the program addresses the design and pattern making of underwear and beachwear (both men’s and women’s), categories where fit, function, comfort, and construction precision are fundamental.
During the two weeks of theoretical and practical training, participants will learn to develop advanced skills in creating patterns for bras (base, triangle, balcony), briefs, boxers, and swimwear, while also managing variations, patterns, and technical adaptations related to materials. The teaching approach is strongly product-oriented and prioritizes guided practice and technical control of the pattern.
Who is this course suitable for?
This educational path has been designed to meet the needs of various profiles wishing to elevate their specific technical know-how. It is primarily aimed at university students of fashion design and pattern making who intend to broaden their skill set, but it also represents a fundamental resource for professionals already active in the sector, such as pattern makers, designers, and product developers interested in vertical specialization in the design and construction of underwear and swimwear.
What are the career prospects?
The specialization offered by the course aims to train highly qualified technical figures capable of operating competently within the technical departments of companies in the sector. The skills acquired allow students to present themselves to the market as pattern makers specializing in corsetry and beachwear or as product technicians capable of managing the fit issues typical of these complex garments. Thanks to the acquisition of a structured and professional working method, participants will be able to communicate effectively with the production chain, managing pattern development from the base to the most complex variations.
