The Foundation Year at Istituto Secoli is an interdisciplinary preparatory program designed to prepare students for entry into undergraduate degree courses in fashion and design. This pathway offers a solid linguistic, cultural, artistic, and methodological foundation, allowing students to strengthen their Italian, introduce them to design fundamentals, and develop creative and analytical skills essential for those wishing to pursue a career in the fashion world.
The course is particularly suitable for international students, as it represents a bridge between pre-university education and academic studies, facilitating integration into the Italian educational context. Through a practical and theoretical approach, students acquire concrete tools to successfully tackle academic courses while building solid and versatile preparation.
Who is this course suitable for?
This course is designed for international students with fewer than 12 years of education who wish to meet the requirements necessary for admission to the three-year academic program, as well as candidates holding qualifications obtained under American or British educational systems that do not meet the required ministerial requirements.
What are the career prospects?
The course does not have a direct professional outcome, but offers international students without the 12 years of schooling required by the Italian system, or holding qualifications obtained in American and British educational systems, the opportunity to fulfill ministerial requirements and access with solid foundations the Level I Academic Diploma in Fashion Design and Fashion Product Technologies at Istituto Secoli.
Class Schedule
The course includes 630 hours of classroom training.
Attendance is mandatory and full-time, with classes from Monday to Friday for a total of 21 hours per week.
The first semester can be attended in blended mode, following lessons online and using the e-learning platform for materials, on-demand content, exercises, and study support.
