Mattia Rainò wins The Link 2017 competition

Mattia Rainò, a designer from Istituto Secoli in Milan, is the winner of the 2017 edition of the Link, the prestigious competition held in Cannes during the MarediModa trade fair. Mattia Rainò was the only Italian finalist in the Lingerie category, selected from among all the most prestigious European fashion schools. The young designer from Salento presented the S/S 2018 women’s lingerie collection titled Bellezza Altra: a project that challenges the classical concept of beauty, where imperfection becomes a distinctive element and a symbol of non-stereotypical beauty. Rainò was judged on November 8 by industry experts and a public jury based on the criteria of project usability, innovation and real-world application, research content, and the enhancement of printed fabrics. In addition to winning the first prize worth 1,000 euros, he was selected for an internship at Parah. In July, he will be able to showcase new creations in Florence at the Maredamare international trade fair at Fortezza da Basso.

“I am very happy with this victory from both a personal and professional perspective,” comments Mattia Rainò. “I would like to thank Istituto Secoli for this opportunity.”
