ISTITUTO SECOLI & PORTA VENEZIA DESIGN DISTRICT: “UNIFORM & VISUAL PROJECT” DEBUTS AT DESIGN WEEK

In 2026, the collaboration between Istituto Secoli and Porta Venezia District comes to life for the design and development of an iconic and functional jacket/uniform, worn by the PORTA VENEZIA DESIGN DISTRICT staff during Milan Design Week. The garment interprets the dual soul of the district: on one hand historic and monumental, on the other rebellious and contemporary.
Under the Creative Direction of Viennese designer Arthur Arbesser, known for his distinctive use of color, graphic patterns, and cross-disciplinary collaborations between fashion, art, and design, and with the coordination of the teaching team composed of Domenico Civita (Style Area Coordinator) and Francesco Baldassarre (Visual Project Coordinator), Secoli students and alumni developed various jacket/uniform proposals, exploring functional variants—gender-neutral fit, durability, recognizability—and innovative graphic solutions.
The creations and project narrative will be exhibited both in the Institute’s educational spaces and in the foyer of Teatro Elfo Puccini, a cultural landmark and integral part of the District, activating a distributed exhibition path throughout the neighborhood.
The fabrics for the official uniform—as well as the winning uniform designed by Andrea Bartoletti—were provided by Secoli’s partner brand Zerow, a B2B marketplace specializing in textile deadstock.
