Young talents from Istituto Secoli are making their mark abroad as well!

Wenqi Cheng, a student of the MASTER IN MENSWEAR PATTERN MAKING course, has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious American competition ART OF FASHION 2013.

The competition, established to promote international cultural exchange through educational programs spanning fashion, art, and design, annually brings together the best projects from young creatives at Art, Fashion, and Design universities worldwide.

The theme of the 2013 edition of AoF is “RESILIENCE”.

Cheng’s collection is inspired by silence—powerful and resistant; three oversize looks where black and white blend to create shades of grey.

Concept

Silence but Powerful, Powerful but less Aggressive – This is the way Wenqi Cheng wanted to express Resilience through these 3 silhouettes. A better way to react to the problems in our society, a better way we struggle for our dreams. Grey is an intermediate color between black and white, it is a neutral or achromatic color, connecting black and white, reducing the strong contrast effect.
