On December 16, the second-year students of the three-year courses participated in a seminar with THE WOOLMARK COMPANY, a leading brand in the virgin wool sector.

Leading the introductory webinar to the world of WOOLMARK was Birgit Gahlen, the brand’s R&D Manager Europe, who illustrated the different types of wool available on the market and the characteristics of each, then specifically addressing the properties of this animal-based fiber, possible combinations with other materials, along with the latest usage trends.

Furthermore, the speaker introduced students to the WOOLMARK LEARNING CENTRE e-learning platform, designed to support the entire wool supply chain, from producers to the designers who work with it, by providing resources, information, and tools.

Each student can now decide whether to accept the challenge launched at the end of the meeting by participating in the WOOLMARK PERFORMANCE CHALLENGE, an international contest aimed at young creatives for the development of innovative ideas and sportswear product solutions, experimenting with the unique properties of wool.
