Istituto Secoli had the pleasure of welcoming VERSACE once again for an important day of discussion and training dedicated to our students.

The meeting offered an in-depth look at the development of Ready-to-Wear collections, allowing students to gain closer insight into the main garment construction techniques and the processes that characterize the creation of a collection within one of the most prestigious fashion houses in the international fashion industry.

The protagonists of the day were Marzia Antignani and Daniela Crivellari, Seamstress and Cutting Supervisors at VERSACE, who shared their professional experience with the students, offering valuable testimony on the importance of technical expertise, precision, and attention to detail.

Their return to the classroom confirms the strong connection between Istituto Secoli and the fashion industry, creating concrete opportunities for dialogue between professionals and students and contributing to the training of new generations of pattern making and garment construction specialists.

An experience that allowed students to deepen fundamental technical skills and engage directly with professional figures who contribute daily to the creation of VERSACE’s Ready-to-Wear collections.

As part of a special collaboration with Zegna, our students had the opportunity to delve into the values and skills that characterize excellence in contemporary menswear.

The project kicked off with a dedicated meeting within the Clothing Prototyping course, during which students explored the importance of material selection, fabric quality, and artisanal savoir-faire in the creation of a high-end garment.

Starting with fabrics provided by Zegna, students then put their acquired skills into practice by developing and creating a tailored vest—an iconic garment capable of expressing technical precision, research, and attention to detail.

The experience represented an important opportunity for engagement with an international company and allowed students to understand how product authenticity is born from the intersection of corporate values, raw material quality, and the talent of the people who transform an idea into a finished garment.

A journey that tangibly illustrates the “From Sheep to Shop” concept, guiding students through every stage that contributes to the creation of excellence.

At Talent Garden in Milan on June 5, 47 young designers transformed personal thoughts, visions, and imagery into collections through technique, research, and experimentation.

Before an audience of 500 guests, including companies, press, institutions, partners, and fashion system professionals, Secoli designers brought the results of an intensive educational journey to the runway, transforming personal thoughts, intuitions, and imagery into garments. The Secoli Fashion Show 2026 celebrated not only the conclusion of their studies but also the beginning of a new professional phase for a generation of designers called to engage with the future of fashion.

The theme of the 2026 edition was “Mental Spaces,” a concept that guided students through a creative journey from the concrete to the abstract, before returning to reality with a perspective transformed by experience. The result was garments capable of telling stories of inner worlds, personal visions, and new expressive possibilities. On the runway, each piece narrated this journey through the construction of volumes, material research, pattern making, craftsmanship, and the definition of a personal aesthetic language. This highlighted the value of the Secoli Method: a path where creativity meets technique, design awareness, and product culture.

Through divergent thinking and Design Thinking, young designers constructed and deconstructed shapes, codes, and surfaces, moving beyond established patterns and making experimentation not just an aesthetic result, but a true design attitude. Creation thus emerged not only as a final object but as a process, gesture, intention, and transformation. The Secoli Fashion Show unfolded in two distinct and complementary moments: the evening opened with the preview of Designer to Watch, a project dedicated to talents selected from the best thesis projects and supported in the development of their own capsule collections. The runway then came to life with the actual Secoli Fashion Show 2026, the collective fashion show of students at the end of their three-year degree program, dedicated this year to the theme “Mental Spaces.”

The stars of the preview were the Designer to Watch 2026: Andrea Bartoletti, Anna Mignolli, Cinzia Carecchio, Edoardo Fabbri, Maria Scaglione, Patricia Gorbatovschi, Lorenzo Erbetta, and Valeria Rongaroli, who presented two outfits from their personal collections, offering the audience a glimpse into the identities, imagery, and research directions that will accompany them in their next professional steps.

The show then continued with the six collections of the Secoli Fashion Show 2026:
Material_Experimentation, Social_Experimentation, Ethical_Experimentation, Performative_Experimentation, Conceptual_Experimentation, and Visual_Experimentation. Making this work possible was also the collaboration with major companies in the textile, technology, and manufacturing sectors: ALBINI GROUP, ASAHI KASEI FIBERS ITALIA – BembergTM, BRUNELLO, CANDIANI, CORIUM PRODOTTI ALFA, EUROJERSEY, MACPI, LECTRA, LUXURY JERSEY, STRATASYS, and ZEROW.
Their contribution allowed students to engage with materials, processes, and applied technologies, strengthening the dialogue between education and industry that represents one of the most important drivers for the future of fashion.

For this edition as well, Regione Lombardia, Comune di Milano, ANTIA ETS, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, IACDE, and Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda ETS
granted their patronage, confirming the value of the Fashion Show as a meeting point for education, young talent, and the fashion system.

The masterclass allowed students to discover the brand’s corporate approach and industrial workflow firsthand. During the lesson, the Gucci team introduced an advanced pleating technique for skirt construction: a crucial technical process that the young talents will apply directly to the final garments they present for their end-of-course exams.

The 78th diploma award ceremony was a moment of great emotion, joy, and satisfaction for students, friends, and family members who gathered to celebrate the milestone achieved at the end of their course of study at Secoli. It was a special occasion to receive diplomas and share, together with Secoli’s management and the guests present, the conclusion of an important journey of personal and professional growth.

The highlight of the event was the round table entitled “Evolutions in the Fashion Sector: Technology, Sustainability, and Education,” introduced by Matteo Secoli, President of the Institute, and opened with an official address by Alessia Cappello, Councilor for Economic Development and Labor Policies of the City of Milan, who delivered a motivational and encouraging speech to the young graduates about their future.
Franco Martorella, President, Founder, and Technical Director of Pattern S.p.A., then took the floor, while the event was concluded by Giorgio Secoli, Director of Consulting and Corporate Relations at Istituto Secoli.

It is always valuable to hear the views of professionals and leading figures in the sector, who are able not only to provide a concrete vision of the labor market and its developments, but also to share stories of successful entrepreneurial initiatives in which innovation, sustainability, and education become central elements for the future of the fashion industry.

As part of their advanced garment construction program, students explored the world of down through a dedicated training experience.

The day began with an in-depth look at the origins, treatments, and main characteristics of down, led by Andrea Molina, Product Manager at A. Molina & C. S.p.A.

Subsequently, Davide Bossi, Operations Director at Herno, illustrated how down is integrated into the brand’s production processes, with a focus on Laminar and its innovative approach to performance outerwear.

The experience concluded with a practical demonstration conducted by Herno’s master pattern-making tailor, offering students the opportunity to observe construction techniques up close and discover the details that make a high-quality outerwear garment unique.

Through direct dialogue with companies and industry professionals, Istituto Secoli continues to promote training oriented toward technical excellence, innovation, and Made in Italy culture.

The initiative aims to develop new smart textiles capable of ensuring durability, efficiency, and continuity of use, integrating advanced functionalities such as intelligent sensors, bio-based and bio-inspired materials, as well as sustainable tracking and power systems for smart devices.

Istituto Secoli is participating in the project together with a team of professionals consisting of S&H, Framis Italia, and Linificio e Canapificio Nazionale SB | Gruppo Marzotto.

The 43rd edition of the Secoli Fashion Show is just around the corner!

On June 4, at the Talent Garden Studios, 8 Designers to Watch will take to the runway, ready to offer the audience a first look at their original capsule collections. Following this, the 6 collections of the SECOLI FASHION SHOW 2026 will be presented, inspired by the concept Spazi Mentali (Mental Spaces)—a theme exploring inner dimensions, perceptions, and new creative horizons. Creating an idea by moving from concrete to abstract thought, and then returning to a reality transformed by experience. It is a creative process of experimentation that generates a living space. This journey leads to “divergent thinking,” as defined by J. P. Guilford, a fundamental dimension of creativity that explores possibilities and generates innovative solutions by applying “Design Thinking”—an approach that constructs/deconstructs, moves beyond patterns, and values emotional meaning as the key to interpreting innovation.
