The term Oikèo, translated from ancient Greek as “to dwell,” represents the action inherent to humanity that reflects rather than submits to life. In Oikèo, the verb takes on the meaning of caring—for oneself, but also for others—an activity in which we all become fragile, vulnerable. The home thus becomes a place of nakedness: within it, we lay ourselves bare by shedding our “social attire”; we feel “at home” where we no longer need to defend ourselves from anyone. The ultimate purpose of the collection is to offer a personal vision of the concept of man: a delicate and romantic figure, yet at the same time profoundly strong in his fragilities. It is precisely those insecurities, often concealed or misunderstood, that become an integral part of his essence. A perspective not easy to uphold, especially in light of the still superficial and stereotypical representation of man’s role in contemporary society.

Psyche-deloo is the designer’s vision of the society surrounding her and of the individual inhabiting it: what she intends to convey is what she experiences, thinks, and feels firsthand. The concept begins from a passive state, in which the individual succumbs to the will of their surroundings and everything is completely beyond their control, even themselves. This is followed by change and awakening, as the subject moves and contorts to reach the end of a journey, through which they break free, recognize themselves, and regain control—at least of what directly concerns them.

The collection is inspired by the idea that form is “Something Else” compared to simple matter: it does not coincide with the thing itself, but communicates beyond what it contains. It cannot be reduced to the material that constitutes it, because it expresses a surplus of meaning capable of surpassing and transforming the object. Within the block of marble, the form is not created, but revealed: it is already present, hidden within the matter. The artist does not add, but subtracts, eliminating the superfluous to make visible what was invisible. The block thus becomes the site of a tension between what emerges and what remains concealed, between matter and latent form.
